The 2026 Edition of the AAW will be in the Sign of PEACE
The 23rd Antarctic Activity Week will be held from 16th through 22nd February 2026
February 22nd, 1904 marked a historic milestone for Argentina: for the first time, the national flag was raised on Laurie Island, South Orkney, starting Argentina’s uninterrupted presence in the region with the inauguration of the Meteorological Observatory, which would later become the Orkney Base (WAP ARG-15).
“Día de la Antártida Argentina” is commemorated annually on 22 February.

The 23rd edition of the Antarctic Activity Week (16-22 February 2025), will show some special callsigns sucha as EM3ØVER (WAP-357), EM3ØKY (op.UT1KY) WAP-359, EM3ØKCC (op.UR5KCC) WAP-360, EM3ØLV (op.UR8LV) WAP-361, EN3ØUA (op.UT7UA) WAP-362 , been issued to celebrate from february 1st through march 1st 2026, the 3Øth Anniversary of the Ukrainian Scientific Antarctic Station Akademik Vernadsky in Antarctica. The Anniversary falls in the middle of the AAW, so one more good reason to work it!
