The Antarctic Treaty sets Antarctica aside as a scientific preserve, establishes freedom of scientific research and bans military activity on the continent. Emperor Penguins and spectacular scenery aside, knowing that Antarctica is the only continent with no confirmed cases of COVID-19 makes it even more appealing. It is an excellent place to holiday, post COVID-19, as it is the ultimate in inert environments.

Plus, the vast open landscapes are the exact opposite of all we have been enduring while in lockdown and offer holidays focused on mindfulness and escapism – the opposite of a hectic city life
